GTRI Patuxent (Pax) River is located approximately .25 miles north of Gate 1 of the Naval Air Station Patuxent River (in the Expedition Buildings across the street from the Exploration Buildings) and is responsible for coordinating sponsor engagement activities between the Naval Air Systems Command and GTRI. GTRI Pax River is also involved in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) outreach, along with community involvement through membership in professional organizations such as Association of Old Crows (AOC) and The Patuxent Partnership (TPP).
The primary goal of GTRI Pax River is to provide excellent support to U.S. Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) by operating as a premier engineering organization working for and on behalf of the government while developing trusted relationships across local government, industry, professional, and academic organizations. A secondary goal is to “be a good neighbor” and contribute to and help better the local community by providing STEM outreach to the local schools, hire local staff, increase and support local business, and support local charitable events.
This office provides onsite technical capability and engineering, as well as deep reach-back to GTRI’s Atlanta-based laboratories. And, hosts a large variety of professional development courses.
