In 1992 the Georgia Tech Research Institute was among the first educational institutions approved to offer courses designed and developed by the Department of Labor OSHA. Today the OTI Education Center offers more than thirty (30) safety and health courses throughout the southeast region on topics ranging from hazardous materials and emergency response to occupational ergonomics, industrial hygiene and machine safeguarding. More than two thousand (2000) students take GTRI OSHA courses each year.
